To extend the core functionality of Kamala, several modules were created. The following modules are currently available:
Date and HTML type occurrences
To provide a better user experience regarding dates, an occurrence type can be marked as a date-type. Kamala will then present the date values as a visual calendar widget, ensuring a uniform date storage format.
A [tooltip title=”” content=”What You See Is What You Get” type=”classic” ]WYSIWYG[/tooltip] editor was added for occurrence types that are marked as HTML-type.
The date and HTML type occurrences are available in all Kamala editions.
The favorites module provides functionality to mark topics and topic types as a favorite and place them on your dashboard. Use favorites to keep the most important topics in sight.
The favorites module is available in all Kamala editions.
The grouping module provides functionality of grouping characteristics of a topic together in user-defined groups. These groups are defined per topic type. For example: a person topic type could have a “Personal” and “Financial” group, with an address occurrence type located in the personal group.
The grouping module is available for the Standard Workspace Kamala edition and up.
The appearance of topics of a specific type can be changed to accommodate your needs. For example, show photos of people, logos of companies and indirectly linked information such as email addresses on every topic a person or company is linked to.
The templating module is available for the Standard Workspace Kamala edition and up.
The geo module allows for adding a geolocation to your topics. In combination with the templating module this can be presented like the screenshot on the right. When combined with the facet classification module, an interactive map can be displayed with all geotagged topics.
The geo module is available for the Business and Enterprise Kamala editions.
The facet classification module can be used to navigate through a topic map based on classifications. For this, the Apache Solr search platform is used for indexing the topic map data. By selecting properties of topics types as facets, topic lists can easily be filtered on for example project status or location.
The facet classification module is available for the Business and Enterprise Kamala editions.
The development of Kamala is an ongoing process and therefore more modules will be created when functionality is needed by users. Please let us know if you have ideas or require more functionality.
